Lauren Edwards
Lauren was born and raised in the local town of Barham before heading off to study Physiotherapy at Latrobe University. She graduated in 2008 and returned to the local district to provide physiotherapy services to our community. Lauren started out her own Physiotherapy business venture in 2013 before purchasing the current property at 40 Muir Avenue in 2018 where the idea behind the Allied Health coworking space came alive. Lauren is the director of Avenue Health and lives in Kerang with her husband John, and 4 young daughters.
In the Physiotherapy world, she has a special interest in shoulder pain and dysfunction, biomechanical assessment of feet and lower limbs and geriatric (our older population) physiotherapy.
Corey Adams
Corey is also a local. (How lucky are we to have 2 locals in our team!) He was born and raised in Kerang before heading off to study Physiotherapy at Latrobe University - he graduated from his studies in 2020. Corey is a talented and hardworking Physiotherapist with a strong interest in the Sports and Musculoskeletal fields of Physiotherapy. He has a strong set of hands and a motivated, caring attitude to assist you in your recovery.
Every consultation ensures a thorough assessment and examination of the area of concern - we ask lots of questions and then ask the patient to perform certain movements to help us work out the problem.
Treatment is always provided and this can include:
- Hands on therapy: massage, joint mobilisation, joint manipulation
- Dry Needling
- Electrotherapy: Therapeutic Ultrasound/ Interferential Therapy
- Taping
- Providing a home exercise program
We also work closely with our local GP's, as we don't 'know it all' and understand that sometimes medical assistance for pain relieving medications and imaging requests are required. We have a strong network of allied health professional and specialist associates in Metro and Regional centres to have the power to refer you onto to get the right help at the right time to manage your problem.
